" Welcome to 2017– the 40th anniversary of the Australian-Thai Chamber of Commerce. What a fantastic achievement!
On behalf of Austcham, I would like to introduce the first Advance of 2017 by wishing all our members and friends all the very best for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
Our message for the year is that we will continue to focus on our three core benefits for our members: Networking, Community and Business.
Our monthly networking event – Sundowners – will again be the highlight of the Bangkok business community calendar. Our annual events – Anzac Day Tour to Hellfire Pass and AFL Grand Final Day – will also continue to provide unique Australian experiences in Thailand, and we will strive to find new and interesting opportunities for people to connect.
To ensure we are contributing to Thai society, your Chamber will work hard on identifying and helping worthy and relevant CSR activities, and we invite our sponsors, members and other chambers to join these projects. In particular, we would like to take a more hands on approach to CSR this year.
Behind the scenes, your Board of Directors remain focused on strengthening relationships with Thai and Australian government agencies as a platform for our members to be heard and contribute to more efficient business practices.
I am delighted to welcome on board our sponsors for 2017, highlighted in the newsletter below. Our Chamber is a success because of their support and we greatly appreciate their contribution to the Australian-Thai business community.
The Chamber exists for our members and we would like to encourage even greater participation in all our activities this year. With this in mind, we will be asking our members if they would be interested in taking an active role in our various sub-committees to help further our work in specific areas. Watch this space for more details.
Finally, our new Executive Director, Brendan Cunningham, joined in January with a dedicated goal of making 2017 Austcham’s finest in our 40-year history!
I am looking forward to seeing you at our events and, as always, if you have any questions, comments or feedback, please feel free to contact me, your Board or the Austcham office any time. "
