An invitation has been extended to AustCham members to attend an engaging and interactive panel that will examine making the most of economic opportunities in ASEAN. In a shock to investment markets, which had been increasingly confident Britain would remain in the EU, the British electorate voted by a 52%-48% margin to leave the European Union. London, Scotland and Northern Ireland generally voted to remain in the EU but were outweighed by votes to leave from the rest of England and Wales. |

The Australian federal election will be held on Saturday 2 July 2016. Early (in-person) voting will be offered at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok from Monday 20 June to 1 July 2016 between the hours of 8.30am to 4.00pm, Monday to Friday, and on Saturday 2 July from 9am to 5pm. M.L. Laksasubha Kridakon, special advisor to AustCham’s Australian Alumni program, attended the ‘ASEAN Women’s Private Sector Forum (Tourism)’ in Laos from the 13 – 15 June. A collaboration between the Australian Embassy, Australian Chamber of Commerce (AustCham Lao) and the Ministry of Information, Tourism and Culture, the forum aimed to provide women in the tourism industry, particularly those running small and medium sized enterprises, with skills and networks to strengthen their businesses. The main outcomes from the forum will be presented to participants at the ASEAN Ecotourism Forum in Pakse from 21-25 June. |

ASEAN countries will propose to the 16 member states of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) to eliminate tariffs on 92 per cent of trade in goods to promote economic integration of the grouping soon. |
