MEZZALUNA

French Cuisine with a Japanese touch
If fine dining had a second name, it would be Mezzaluna. It is the piece de resistance of lebua's finest restaurant, a Michelin 2 star, with a stunning 180-degree city and river views, rivaled only by the masterful culinary presentations placed before you.
The Tasting Menu is French cuisine with a Japanese touch, backed by the culinary excellence of Chef Ryuki Kawasaki, who has worked in restaurants in France and earned his spurs. He sources the best ingredients and meat from Japan and other European destinations and offers the celebrated seven-course Tasting Menu, with optional wine pairings.
The showcasing of the contemporary French cuisine is seamlessly woven into seasonal artisanal Japanese produce, is something that only Chef Ryuki is capable of creating. As the quartet string band plays wafting music and the Sommelier Sabino does his rendering of the story of where each bottle of wine comes from, the diners get transported into the best of fine dining that Bangkok has ever seen. But what is so different about Mezzaluna that it is often benchmarked and aspired for? Everything, if you ask the connoisseurs of cuisine.
When you combine the French way of cooking with a deft Japanese touch, it’s all about the attention to detail and the presentation on the plate. Take the all time favourite, the Niigata Murakami Wagyu Beef which is grilled over Bincho Charcoal. Hachimantai Salmon, a Rainbow trout from Iwate is smoked and served with golden trout roe, Japanese udo and urui. The cedro lemon emulsion and yoghurt sorbet adds a light and zesty note.
The wine pairings at Mezzaluna can only be said as a marriage made in heaven. Each pouring of the wine is selected with a lot of attention to detail in relation of what is in the plate and the Sommelier literally sings about the make and the history of what is in the bottle.
Dining at Mezzaluna is an out of the world experience in itself and you need to be there to know what the art of fine dining is all about.
