Message from your Chamber

Greetings and welcome to this month’s issue of AustCham's Advance online magazine.

AustCham continued to deliver on its three pillars – Business, Connections, Community – in September, and have another busy month planned in October.

On the Business side, our Industry Focus this month is “The Digital Space” and you can find interesting and informative articles from our Members in this field below, as well as in our Advance Blog page. This is an ever-changing, ever-growing and ever-exploding space, and we’re proud to announce that our members in this field will be providing their expertise in AustCham’s Digital Workshop Series, to be launched at our Member Briefing on 3rd October.

Highlighting the Digital month is a business luncheon featuring H.E. Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, speaking on the topic “Update on the Development of the Digital Economy”. All event details can be found below.

Our Directors and Members have been busy with various government ministries and agencies over the past month, including meetings with the Ministry of Education, Board of Investment (BOI), and Thai Customs Department, and can expect more news to follow on the projects with the Regulatory Guillotine and the International Vocational Committee.

Sundowners, Thailand’s premier business networking event, ventures to the Park Hyatt for the first time in October, and we are expecting a full house, so get in quick for reservations.

Finally, we held one of our biggest community events of the year, The Coffee Club 2018 AFL Grand Final Family Day, last Saturday, and now turn our attention to The Duchess 2018 AustCham Golf Tournament.

Lots happening in the Australian-Thai business community, as we move into the last quarter of the year.

Wishing you all a successful month ahead"
