We are using technologies in new ways, driving businesses to rethink their product and service offerings and business models. As Thailand implements its Thailand 4.0 economic strategy to transform into a digital economy, businesses need to prepare to exploit the opportunities and mitigate the risks associated with operating in a digital environment.

Digital technologies can lift productivity and competitiveness, drive innovation and provide access to international markets. This may require changes to business operations, such as employee education, optimising your business for mobile phone websites, developing a presence on social media and advertising online. However, a greater online presence means greater vulnerability to cybercrime and the need for robust cybersecurity policies.

Australian Ambassador for Cyber Affairs, Dr Tobias Feakin, is a technical expert who has been involved in conducting Australia’s cyber security review and developing the country’s cyber security strategy. He will present on business opportunities in a digitalised economy, and will discuss ways businesses need to prepare to exploit these opportunities. He will also discuss the cybersecurity implications of operating in a digitalised environment. This will be followed by a panel discussion of these issues from a public and private perspective.
