  • This type of booking can be made by only one employee of AustCham Member. If you want to register more guests from same company please select "Multiple registrations from the same member company"
  • While our strong preference is that each employee of an AustCham member company create their own log-in to book for events, we recognise there are events such Sundowners where one company may wish to place a single booking for multiple employees.
  • For those who are not members of the chamber and not employed by an AustCham member company. Your entry fee includes 50 baht that is donated directly to community services activities. You may register additional guests.

The recent Facebook congressional hearings have triggered questions about the security of users’ data. They have also raised concerns among Facebook advertisers, many of whom have ditched traditional forms of media advertising and eagerly embraced the “new world” of social marketing. That’s no less the case in Thailand, where social media use is among the highest in the world, especially for Facebook and Instagram. AustCham members are increasingly employing modern social marketing strategies to grow their businesses (including AustCham itself). Should they stop or is it all “fake news”? What is clear from the congressional hearings is that not everybody has a grasp of the facts. In “Facebook’s Future: Your data and your business”, our panel of experts will try to demystify the facts, explain how social marketing works, and review the risks, benefits and the opportunities for advertisers in Thailand.

Panelists:

  • Sanjay Sachdev, Partner at Grant Thornton Thailand; discusses the pros and cons of investing in digital comms.
  • Rob Hall: MD at Dot360; expresses interesting views on Facebook’s changing business model and data security options for clients.
  • David Norcross: MD at Lexicon Business Communications; Lexicon's clients use Facebook as a key content marketing platform.
  • Bart Medici: Founder at Bangkok Entrepreneurs and WebMob Digital; he runs digital advertising and social media workshops for Entrepreneurs and SMEs.
  • Facilitator: Stuart Kelly (AustCham Director, ex-journalist and MD, Weber Shandwick) will probe the panel for interesting insights.
