 February 2015 Issue 7

"As my family and I come to the end of our time in Thailand, we look back with great fondness and hope that it is not too long before we return. A large part of what has made our experience here so positive has been the support and networks we found through AustCham when we first arrived and that have developed since then.

I am now coming to the end of serving two years on the Board and, as with many things here in Thailand, there have been a lot of changes to AustCham during this time and I am glad to have been part of this ongoing journey of development. I feel privileged to have met so many great friends and contacts through the membership base, to have worked with the AustCham team who, as a small team, achieve so much and to have been part of a diverse Board of Directors.

A strong underlying theme has been the feeling of being part of a community, not just for me professionally, but also for my family, including the opportunity to be involved in local and regional initiatives that give back to the society we are part of. This community reaches across borders between Australia and Thailand and it has been a particular pleasure to meet so many of the AustralianAlumni Group, many of whom I will stay in touch with.

Somehow there is a little bit of Thailand in us now that is here to stay. I am sure that it will pull us back to visit and I look forward to seeing many of you again in the future. "
